LOS ANGELES — March 1, 2023 — Kreate Kafeteria, a female-founded organization providing a children’s after-school hub for the arts and community-funded international food, unveiled a series of workshops for women of all ages and expressions on Saturdays this month in celebration of Women’s History Month. Attendees will be treated with craft activity tables, cuisines from around the globe from local vendors, and inspiring female entrepreneurs featured at USC’s 2023 ATHENA Women's Entrepreneurship Summit.

With the March’s significant milestones for women’s voting rights, the Kafeteria hopes to foster an atmosphere where women can learn to advocate for themselves in the workspace, cater an open conversation forum to relate to one another’s challenges and celebrate womanhood through inspiring female speakers pioneers in the businesses.

“It’s amazing to know we have this sense of trust. It’s new now to see a sister at the table with you and to feel that way with other minorities, other immigrants, that fight and desire to win,” said Cristina Patwa, the Filipina CEO of Enroot Organics, the award-winning organic beverage company she co-founded alongside Brad Pitt and John Fogelman at the Summit. “Because I moved from the Philippines during a time of turmoil, my nervous system only knows turmoil. Still, at 42, I’m in the progress of rewiring and doing daily exercises to remind myself how far I’ve come.”

To ease feelings of impending pressure from all intersectional aspects women have in the work and personal life, Kreate Kafeteria’s Women’s History Month events provide days of oasis to relax and listen to trailblazing female figures, eat from a variety of local food vendors and participate in therapeutic crafts.

Each Saturday workshop consists of speakers and an accompanying array of food from local vendors (including Filipino lumpia, Italian pizza, bakery pastries, and fresh frutería)

  • March 4, 2023 – Christina Patwa: Enroot Organics custom beverage-making experience

  • March 11, 2023 – Candace Nelson: Sprinkles Cupcakes decorating

  • March 18, 2023 – Ellen Chen: Mendocino Farms food distribution center meal assembly

  • March 25, 2023 – Sabrina Garba: Culture and community vision board crafting

Kreate Kafeteria’s Women’s History Month craft and food workshops are now available for reservation (free of charge). Find new updates and detailed itineraries by visiting www.kreatekafeteria.com.
